Our area played a significant role during the Civil War and is home to Historic Fort Morgan, a third-system masonry fort built in the 1800s. January kicks off the Mardi Gras season here in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, and we let the good times roll – beach style. 7. Attend Our Showcase Series
Snowbirds can enjoy the winter showcase series at The Learning Campus at Gulf State Park during January and February. These free presentations begin at 10:30 am and last approximately one hour. Topics include nature, cooking, history, local culture, and more, and several presentations include demonstrations. Check out our dates and subjects for 2025, and be sure to RSVP to save a spot!
8. Enjoy Bingo & Trivia Nights
Many local restaurants and bars host Bingo and Trivia nights, offering a fun way for snowbirds to unwind and socialize. For example, New York snowbirds meet for lunch on certain dates, and the Michigan Snowbird Club holds meetings that include entertainment, coffee and donuts, announcements of club activities, and door prizes.
